Big Medicine Bison
Description
A tribute to one of the West’s most extraordinary animals, the Big Medicine Bison t-shirt features the head of a white bison on the left chest and an expansive back illustration of a this beautiful animal emerging through the prairie grass.
In the spring of 1933, among the dark-coated calves born on Montana’s National Bison Range, one arrived with a striking white coat. He was named Big Medicine, a reflection of the deep spiritual significance of the white bison. On the ancestral lands of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, elders regarded him as a gift from the Creator, while others believed he possessed healing power. Big Medicine lived on the range until 1959, becoming an enduring symbol of reverence, resilience, and the rare wonders that still belong to the American West.
